Did you play in the All Star game game prior to 2014?  Please email us with the year you played and how the game was structured!!  allstarseries@gmail.com

In 1999 - the girls All Star game was combined with the boys All Star game.  It was a weekend event with each all star playing in 2 games.  The first game was in St. Cloud, and then the boys and girls all stars traveled by bus down to Rochester to play in a 2nd game.

In 2014, a new committee took over the game and took an already amazing event and added some of their own new touches to it!  The game was moved to Northfield, MN to Carleton College because in a basement of one of their dormitory's the first girls basketball game in Minnesota took place over 120 years prior!   The All Star game was a 2 day event which included opening ceremonies with a magician the night prior,  team bonding over bowling and then 2 games on Saturday with Miss Basketball being crowned after the 2nd game.

In 2016, the event remained similar as in the prior two years, except we added a banquet on Friday night to recognize all 40 players as well as the top 5 Miss Basketball.  We crowned the winner at the banquet instead of after game 2.

In 2017, we continued the tradition of the Friday night banquet as well as the youth clinic prior to the games!  Each year the youth clinic attendance grew!

In 2018, the banquet included 3 former All Star players as guests.  The first being Susan (King) Borchardt  who was a '00 graduate from Holy Angels.  She was Miss Basketball in 2000 and went on to have a succesful basketball career at Stanford.  She  didn't play in the all star game because at the time you could only play in 1 all star game and she played in the McDonald's All American game instead.   Next was Marisa Leighton '00, who had a successful college career at The University of North Dakota.  Finally Kelly (Roysland) Curry '03, who also had a successful college career at University of Minnesota.  They offered lots of funny stories and insight to the all star players and their family.    Our youth clinic was a bit hit this year having Lindsay Whalen and Rebekkah Brunson, both MN Lynx players make guest appearance.  We had over 150 youth girls show up for this!

In 2019, we once again had guest speakers at the banquet.   Erin (Frye) Lind, '97 graduate from Prior Lake who went on to play basketball at Southwest State University join us, as well as Marisa (Leighton) Cate, who spoke at the 2018 banquet, and Lea B. Olsen.  Lea played for the University of Minnesota and is an analyst for the MN Lynx and Fox Sports North.

In 2020, the game was all planned and ready to go, and a month prior, COVID shut the world down!  So no game was played this year!  The All Stars were mailed a shirt and commemorative program.

In 2021 we were lucky to be able to host a game, since COVID still was around and putting restrictions on things.   The game was moved to a 1 day event at Holy Angels with no youth clinic or banquet.   Each player received 4 wristbands for guests.

In 2022 we once again did a 1 day event at Holy Angels.   This year we brought back the youth clinic by having 2 former Miss Basketballs, Linda (Shudlick) Dygos, '95, and Sue (Fiero) Newton '96 run it!  We had a great turnout!

In 2023 it was a 1 day event at Holy Angels.   Our former 1995 and 1996 Miss Basketball winners ran our youth clinic.  We honored Pat Barrett with our 2nd annual Legacy Award for all his hard work with girls basketball in the state of Minnesota.  Former all star game participants and current Minnesota Gophers players Amaya Battle, Mara Braun, Mallory Heyer, and Nia Holloway came back to give the all stars some advice about heading off to college.
